Doorbells across the U.S. will ring this Super Bowl Sunday. Domino’s pizza alone estimates they’ll deliver 11 million slices of pizza. Last night it was decided we would have pizza delivered. “You are too busy to make pizza. Let’s just order in,” said Michael my husband. I reluctantly agreed because I have a full writing day planned.
But…the pizza dough is rising as I write these lines. I have pasture-raised pork sausage in the freezer from a local farm, mozzarella from the farmers’s market, basil from the garden and a large mason jar full of organic flour. The 45 minutes I spend to make homemade pizza this Super Bowl Sunday is worth it. I control the source of my ingredients and get the kids in on the act.
